What is the primary goal of Meta ads?

The heart of Meta ads is driving actions that fill your pockets or grow your tribe. Not just pretty impressions, but real moves like clicks, purchases, signups, and app downloads. You pick the mission in Ads Manager: Awareness, Traffic, Engagement, Leads, App Promotion, or Sales.

Goals determine everything. The auction favors relevance, matching your bid, quality score, and objective. Sales campaigns bid higher but convert hotter. Awareness is cheapest for CPM but generates top-of-funnel attention, not immediate conversions.

Metrics obsession matters. For Sales, track ROAS—revenue divided by ad spend. Three times is good, five times is great. For Leads, cost per lead under $5-10 in most markets is solid. Meta's algorithm learns fast and serves your ads to the people most likely to take your desired action.

Creative must align with your goal. Sales campaigns scream offers like "Site in 24hrs, 50% off first." Awareness campaigns tease value like "Why slow sites kill sales." Mismatched goals and creative waste your entire budget.
